Seamstress Academy
Seamstress Academy is an 84 hour 2 semester educational program that covers advanced techniques in garment design, fit and construction using hands on experience and short lecture.
Intermediate apparel construction skills are required.

You will learn to assess fitting and pattern design , use classic tailoring techniques, learn how to sew with specialty fabrics including athleisurewear, swimwear and lingerie. You will complete a jacket in the tailoring section, and gain insight into the other garment types.

Not included are the items needed for classic tailoring . A detail list will be provided on/or before that first day of class.
Tuition may be a paid in two installments or in full one week before classes start.

September - December Semester
Personalized Fit : Learn how to measure the body, compare the real body measurements to a pattern and generate a personal fit code to adjust and alter your pattern according to Jan Minott method of total fit.

Patternmaking: Students will learn via practice how to alter various patterns using methods of dart manipulation, style lines, flare, gathers and many more .

January - May Semester
Classic Tailoring: Students will sew a lined blazer after doing the fitting adjustments using classic tailoring techniques both hand and machine.
Specialty fabrics: Learn stitching techniques used on bridal, fur and leather both real and faux.
Swimwear Lingerie and Athleisurewear: Learn techniques, fabrics and stitch types for bramaking,swimwear and lingerie
